چکیده

We have measured the total cross sections for single charge exchange in He– He, Ne–Ne and Ar–Ar collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 1.8–14.8, 1.8–10.8 and 2.8–7.3 keV, respectively, using an intersecting beam technique. The results for He–He collisions are compared with existing measurements and calculations. For Ne–Ne and Ar–Ar the measured cross sections are compared with results from new close-coupling calculations based on a one-electron model potential description of the collision system.

Modeling Magnetic Field in Heavy ion Collisions Using Two Different Nuclear Charge Density Distributions

By studying the properties of matter during heavy-ion collisions, a better understanding of the Quark-Gluon plasma is possible. One of the main areas of this study is the calculation of the magnetic field, particularly how the values of conductivity affects this field and how the field strength changes with proper time. In matching the theoretical calculations with results obtained in lab, two diffe...

Immunoglobulin A Preparation from Human Pooled Plasma Using Plasma Fractionation and Ion Exchange Chromatography

Background: In this study we have prepared the IgA solution from normal human plasma using plasma fractionation and ion exchange chromatography. Materials and Methods: Using fractionation of plasma with cold ethanol (starting with 8% ethanol), fraction III was prepared as a suitable source for IgA preparation. Then it was treated with caprylic acid for separation of impurities. For enrichm...

Symmetric versus asymmetric collisions in ion-induced Auger emission from silicon

We investigate the production of Si 2p Auger electrons during bombardment of Si surfaces by 1.0-5.1 keV Ar+ ions. Yields of Auger electrons emitted at 146 a with respect to the ion beam are measured as a function of ion energy. We observe a threshold of 3.8 keV for formation of a double L vacancy in Si, which is due to Ar-Si collisions. This value is higher than those of previous studies, which...

Spin controlled atom-ion inelastic collisions

The control of ultracold collisions between neutral atoms is an extensive and successful field of study. The tools developed in this field allow for ultracold chemical reactions to be managed using magnetic fields1, light fields2 and spin-state manipulation of the colliding particles3 among other methods. Control of chemical reactions in ultracold atom-ion collisions is a young and growing fiel...
